    Worth it overall

So the primary flaw with this tent has been mentioned in a couple of other reviews but it’s such an unnecessary problem that it bears repeating. The two Velcro attachment points for the fly to pole attachment are worse than useless. Worse, because the tent stability and maintenance of space between inner and fly are reliant on the guy tension from these points. I will sew some kind of tie on to these areas for when I next use the tent to see if that improves the function but it is a concern as I have no idea if the poles will then be compromised. Even in Decathlon’s promotional pitching video you can see the Velcro is useless. I used this in mild to extreme weather conditions in Ireland and on Orkney and Shetland as well as on the West Highland Way and for the price to weight to protection ratio I am actually pretty happy with it. As long as you make sure to pitch the entrance opposite the wind there is good wind and rain protection.

    Great VFM

Bought and used this tent for the first time last week. Positives: Very easy to put up Very easy to take down Spacious inside (I’m 5’11) Porch space is excellent and I like the way the floor of the porch attached and curled up to the outer so rain couldn’t roll in Handy storage inside - 2 roof pouches and one behind the head area Hooks and bits to hang things inside Stood up to very strong winds and torrential rain Areas for improvement: The door area of the inner is 100% mesh and the outer door doesn’t go tight to the ground so if there’s a cold wind it will enter the inner very easily. Would like the material to be darker to filter out external light more

You get what you pay for

I bought this tent as something that could be left on a campsite without worrying about what happened to it. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I have another one man tent which cost seven times what this does. It can also have serious problems unless you understand your immediate environment and how the tent will perform. Those who complain about it its performance are only showing their inexperience and / or ignorance, The old adage applies - Cheap, Light, Strong - choose any two.

    Good weight to cost value!

I camped 5 nights along the West Highland Way at the start of May 2019 in this tent. It was cheaper than most/all of it's competitors of the same weight from the most recognisable brands. As I trust the Forclaz range from Decathlon, I felt comfortable that the product would be up to the job, and it was. I experienced freezing temperatures, rain and wind, and was very happy. The only issue I had was some condensation after the coldest nights, but it never affected my sleep or comfort. In terms of dimensions, the space around the head end of the tent is perfect for compact camping pillows and ensures they don't slip around much. I took a very full 50L rucksack and had plenty of space for all of my belongings to be within the porch area without it encroaching on my sleeping area. As space is otherwise at a bit of a premium in any trekking tent like this, there is a convenient pocket at the head end of the tent. A 'Fresh & Black' style version of this would be even better!

    Would not recommend

Really disappointed in this tent. Splashed out a bit extra for the trekking weight. The design of the poles make the tent like a sail in even slight wind. Very tight and i'm only 5ft 4. Don't even have room for the bag in the tent with me. Really disappointed. Am having to buy a new tent just a few months after getting this one as I can't use it.

    Tent Design Is Flawed

Having purchased a lot of items from Decathlon I am sad to say that this tent has a couple of design flaws. I have wild camped and hiked across Scotland and also completed treks such as the TGO challenge. This tent looked interesting and purchased to try it out for my YouTube channel. Howver having used it a couple of times I have the following concern. After a summit camp in good warm weather I was struggling to get to sleep with very cold legs. Noticed that the mesh door comes right down to ground and when the tempratures dropped and wind starts to pick up, even a slight breeze it will come through this mesh door. meaning that even in your sleeping bag your body gets a gold chill no matter how yoou turn to try and avoid it. If the weather was very severe I would be concerned for the potential for hypothermia to be honest as I couldnt get a good nights slepp and that was in warm weather. Also the small velcro tabs on the inside of the flysheet to hold the main spine pole in place is a poor design and no matter how I tried, trying to get good tension on the guylines without the flysheet slipping to one side or the other was impossible. if you did nearly get it right it would put a curved kink onto the pole. As for tested to force 8 in a wind tunnel I am not believing that either unless I can see the film footage. Having used MSR, Vango, Hilliberg, and many more I feel that the design choices have NOT been tested in real world and not fit for purpose .

Definitelty light weight but not protective.

Started my journey with high hopes to the Himachal with the light weight tent definitely agree its the lightest tent available but leaving the weight apart the tent was not of great help on the Parvathi valley with lower temperature and rain as the water moisture forms on the inside of the tent and the ventilation is to big that the cold winds could not be blocked which made me have terrible sleepless cold nights .. I have pretty much picked all my trekking gear from decathlon was pretty much satisfied with the recommendation of all other products picked except this tent which is quite huge in price but really not helpful so here I am back looking for an alternative tent to start back my journey
