I visited many bike shops and online stores, but too often found that the bikes offered were too expensive, or over-specified e.g. 6 year olds' don't need the distraction of gears (they have enough issues with tunnel vision, which is part of their lives until they are at least 10), night lights (why's a 6 year old riding at night), suspension (not many do mountain biking at 6 or 10), etc. The build quality and price of the bike from Decathlon was perfect for a child, however I have disconnected the front brake for now, so he can't nose-dive over the bike when braking. My only disappointment was that a kick-stand was not available for the bike, but I ordered one online and fitted it. Children need to learn at young age to not toss the bike on the ground, so a stand is necessary. This bike also comes with a lifetime warranty and a free service after 3 months, something not often provided by other brands and shops. Guys in the bike workshop were great! My grandson loves the bike and his parents were thrilled it was so good.
