I bought this tent for a festival over August BH weekend in 2019. Was 30 degrees plus all weekend but I was kept cool and calm in my tent. Slept through until 10:30 most days as well without being woken up by the light or by being shallow fried in the baking summer sun. Used for 4 days, went up easy enough and down again just as easy. 100% would recommend for festival usage. Not sure how water tight it was though as it was beautiful all weekend.
Purchased due to wanting a decent sized tent for solo trips out that wouldn't break the bank or my back with weight. This jumped out. Affordable with good reviews I took it with me to Snowdonia 22nd March 2020 lovely day, no rain so can't comment on water rightness. I set up on the east facing side of Tryfan about 400/500m. I do have some pros and cons Pros; *Good weight, and managed to store in on my +litre section of my bag *Blackout worked a treat, however you could still see light under the flysheet and through the vents at the top *Goes up quickly Cons *The storage bag is shocking. Why not add a draw string to it to avoid anything falling out?! It Alos ripped after first use which was disappointing *Not the best insulated tent. I was quite exposed and Temps dropped to about -3 and you felt it in the tent I woke to a bit of frost on my boots *The wind resistance is shocking. I was battered on and off through the night and it did nothing but blow in to the point that the inner sheet was just pushing against my face and a draft blowing under and over the flysheet. It did hold the night but was still standing the following morning. *Did feel small length wise. I'm 184cm and could touch both ends with a stretch. All in all, not bad for the price but needs some improvement
Shopping on a budget we were really happy to pick up the Arpenaz 2 for such a cheap price. At first glance this tent is really good and has some solid features like it's lightness and blackout material. Both of these features work well. The tent is also nice and small and can fit me and my girlfriend plus some small bags no problem. Unfortunately there is a glaring issue that cannot be ignored. The ventilation system is a disaster. The only way air can get into the tent is through 2 small pieces of mesh on both doors. If the flysheet is up the hard piece that should hold the flysheet up to allow airflow does not work and the flysheet thus sits flat against the tent. Because of this there is absolutely no airflow. Not only is this a design flaw but it is downright dangerous. We woke up on a still night literally struggling to breathe. One can sleep with the flysheet open however the ends of the flysheet on either door sit above the floor of the tent meaning that the water falls of the flysheet and into the tent. One can sleep with the flysheet off but of it starts raining you are exposed and in cold weather this will be horrible. Plus the blackout system becomes null and void. I have no idea how this passed quality control and the designers should be fired. If your customers die of carbon dioxide poisining you certainly cannot get repeat business!
Low cost, but first use saw it survive a 6 hours rainstorm, and kept me sleeping into the morning. Using a tarp as extra rain protection on an extended tip could be an option, with addition of creating greater dry space. The blackout fly was impressive as I didn't wake early as with the last 35 years of camping in the summer. I can't comment on the UV/heat reduction quality as yet, but am confident I will be happy with it. I am contemplating to by the 2 man pop up version too.
I bought this tent recently and have just used it for a 2 night camping weekend. I have to say it oozes quality at a fantastic price. It rained a lot and the inner tent stayed completely dry. There was no condensation inside thanks to impressive vents. The blackout facility worked a treat on a site lit with floodlighting. It was totally dark for a great sleep. I would highly recommend 2 things. The first is buy it. The second is buy a 2 man for one person and for two people get the 3 man. The two man was just right for me and my bags. Very good, well constructed tent that is easy to erect.
used this tent for a two day slalom kayak comp. and found it ideal , enough room for myself and my kit ( boat outside but paddles etc inside ) , kept me warm and sunge inside . I have used single skin tents for the same compo a year previous and froze but with the double skin of this tent iwas warm refreshed for the next day which helped my performance , looking forward to next season using this tent every time
Informed after a week of waiting order cancelled as out of stock ...so disappointed!!!!
I bought this to replace a pop up type tent that leaked badly when I used it last. I decided to go for this version as I liked the idea of blackout fabric and that it was meant to be cooler. Just used it for 4 days in extreme sun/heat and thunderstorms! It was easy to set up. The tent stayed up when others were blown away! It stayed dry inside and I loved the fact I wasn’t woken up too early by sunlight coming in. Great idea! My only criticism would be that you can’t avoid rainwater getting in when you open the tent as there’s no porch type cover and there’s no way to fasten the ‘doors’ open but for the price it’s a great tent!
Bought two of these for our kids who’ve grown out of sleeping in the Campervan with us. Used them last weekend when it was 27c with constant sunshine and they stayed cool and dark. Also pretty easy to put up and a lot easier to put down than pop ups we originally got elsewhere. Can’t comment (yet) on how they bear up in cold and wet weather.
Can you carry this tent and the equipment to assemble it in a cabin bag on a plane? Do the airlines allow such equipment on a cabin bag in a plane? Will I need to have a camping mallet to assemble this tent? Looking forwards to your response. Thank you!
Fantastic little tent overall! Spacious for one but a bit cosy for two with kit. Quick and easy to pitch. We use 3 of them inside a large tent for our 3 kids so they each have their own pod/zone. The blackout was the main feature we bought them for and it is totally dark which helps sleep immensely and fun to use torches for bedtime stories even at 8pm in mid summer. Best addition to our camping experience since our gas fridge!
I took this tent with me to Tanzania for 11 days of camping in various national parks and conservation areas (Serengeti, NgoroNgoro crater). It took it all well even when hyena and wild pigs came sniffing the tent at night, it is easy and quick to put up and take down which was useful, the black out I didn't think worked as good as it was decribed, it was dark to the point of needing a torch to see things clearly during the day, but you could manage with what natural light did actually get in. The tent also felt cooler than other tents during the day, but only slightly.
I purchased this tent before i did a trek in Snowdonia. i previously owed a 1 man coffin tent but found it unpractical when trying to change in the rain! This tent isnt the lightest on the market but by far the best value for money. They have a black out liner which even the boys expensive dont have. Great tent!
Good product, easy to set up. Can easily be moved from one place to another after it is set up before its fixed to the ground. Lightweight, relatively easy to pack. Good for 2 peoeple. Only used it once so far, so can't comment on its durability or long term use.
Perfect tent for Indian Weather. very easy to install thanks to freestanding dome structure. The Black inner lining keeps the tent cooler inside and white outer cover reflects heat. Flysheet and ground sheet has good waterproofing. Sufficient space for two persons. two openings provide good ventilation to tent.

Classic dome structure: Fit the poles on the inner tent, then attach the flysheet over it.Reverse the process to take it down.
We recommend you use the tent with the self-inflating or trekking mattress measuring 60 cm maximum. We do not recommend the use of inflating mattresses over 6 cm height in this tent due the reduction in living space and resistance to condensation.
2 ventilations at the top, 2 inside doors with mesh on the top, space between the flysheet and ground all around the tent: to enable air to circulate between the room and the flysheet, to renew the air and limit the natural phenomena of condensation. Fresh concept to reduce the heat from the sun.
All Quechua tents are validated in a laboratory (whole tent under 200 L/sqm/h for 4 hours), as well as in the field.(2000mm PU-coated polyester fly sheet, 120g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet, all seams sealed using thermobonded tape). A breathable polyester inner room under the flysheet means you aren't in contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.
We test all out tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side to the wind. A properly pitched tent with all guy ropes fitted around the tent must remain habitable in wind speeds up to 40 km/h near the ground (Force 5).
