    Failed to self-seal

Punctured on only my second use (on not particularly rough roads/tracks). Self repair failed to work and I had to walk home and resort to the good old puncture repair kit.

I'm sorry to read that the innertube did not seal itself. Holes made by thorns, small pieces of flint or small pinch flats should seal up with no issue as long as you keep on riding (important not to stop riding), the motion of the wheels spinning plugs the hole. If you continued to ride and the puncture persisted, the hole may have been too large.
If you believe the item to be faulty then please feel free to return it to us for a refund or an exchange.

    Bad quality valve

I used it for the first time and as soon as I left home, after 5 minutes cycling the tyre was flat. I checked it and there did not seem to be any problem so I inflated the tyre again but the same happened. I checked the valve and it tourns aout that after pumping air, when I pressed a little bit with my hand I could hear air coming out. This is not fine, I read some comments of people having problems with the valve of this product. I think perhaps some are OK but I would not risk to but it knowing that it is a recurrent problem. Unfortunately, it's been more than a month I bought it so I don;t think I can claim my money back but hopefully it will help other people to take a good decision.

    Nice idea...

So I thought I would replace my old inner tubes with self sealing ones.... nice idea. So first outing, great ride out of about 10 miles just to check everything OK. Second outing my front tyre was a bit soft so when to inflate... unfortunately it appears the valve has broken and the sealant has filled up the valve and sealed it completely... unable to put any air in but on the upside will not deflate any more. Downside is .... in order to fit a new innertube I have had to slash the self healing one to get it out ... so the incentive lasted one ride - not really value for money then.

It sounds as if the valve is blocked. It can occasionally happen to self sealing innertubes from all brands. A valve can be removed and cleaned and replaced. Alternatively you can return it to us for a replacement.

    it works

got flat on my way to work but still made it all the way to my work-place. I left my bike for a couple of hrs and when I got back to check on it the tyre was completley flat. I took the wheel off for repair but then I decided to pump some air in and see how it holds. At first it was losing air but then after giving it a spin it sealed itself :) Just to make sure I left it for a few more hours to see if it was going to be fine and it was. Thus there was no need to fix my tyre (inner tube) and I got back home with no issue.

I'm sorry to read that you have a flat tyre.
I'm very interested to hear more about your puncture and why it did not remain inflated when you were riding. I want to feed this back to b'Twin as it will be very useful information to understand what went wrong. Would you mind replying to me?

    not so self sealing

I bought these after a spate of punctures and with a new tyre, set off confident on my commute, 15 miles in and a saftey pin had gone through the side wall. Never mind I thought i'll pull it out and my brand new self sealing inner tube can shine, spin the wheel still going down , put more air in still going down spin the wheel with more air still no joy spent as long trying to get it to seal as it did to change. Got home and part inflated it and the goo bubbled out of a small hole I left it hanging with the hole at the bottom hoping it might work. After a week and still not sealed I binned it, complete waste of time and money.

    Hi Darren,

Thank you for taking your time to review the self healing inner tube.
It is strange that the sealant did not work as it should, you have done everything correct in regards to keeping the wheel spinning etc to get the sealant into the hole. The only thing I can think of is that the hole was bigger than the 3mm that it will seal up to. I have been using the road version on my bike and it worked well after riding over some glass.

I'd return the tube to your local store for an exchange/refund as it has not done the job it is designed for.

    26X1.7-2.2 ATC INNER TUBE

Two inner tubes in a year - 1st one replaced after bad puncture ( which auto filled so I was able to cycle 5 miles to get home) 2nd tube I still have in and nice to know you do not need to stress about getting puncture. Hello Punith,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your review. The inner tube usually heals staple pins and smaller punctures. It may not be able to heal nail piercings. I suggest you try a tire liner to reduce the number of punctures.  I remain available for more questions.

    26x1.7-2.2 Self-Healing Inner Tube - Schrader Valv

I bought a second one of these auto-repair tubes last week for my other tyre. But after filling the air, just as I was about to put the cap on, I noticed that some air was coming out of the valve. I then checked my other wheel which had this same self-healing tube fixed couple of months before. To my surprise, it also had a similar air leak from the valve. I still used it for a couple of days and the loss of air pressure is not noticeable. I am not sure if this is the way they are designed or whether I got faulty pieces. I am actually confused and hope to check with the store one of the weekends. I've not yet got a flat tyre situation to see the auto-repair in action (or did it happen and it auto-healed and I did not know!!?, which would be cool).

    Hello Rajesh,

Not sure how you noticed that the air is leaking from the valve because if it was so evident the tire would have been flat in a couple of hrs. The fact that it is happening in the other tire as well is very surprising. I suggest you visit the closest Decathlon store to have a quick check.

    Leaking valve

The valve got detached automatically just after 1 ride. The valve cannot be attached even with strong glue, rendering the tube useless.

    Hello Srijith,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. The inner tube valve breaking is uncommon. The valve may have been installed incorrectly or the product itself may be defective. Please take the defective product to the closest decathlon store and they will let you know if you can get a replacement after examining the inner tube.

    Additional Product Information

How to choose your inner tube

Check the information indicated on the sidewall of the tyre (diameter and width). For example, 26 x 2.00 means your tyre is 26 inches in diameter and 2.00 inches in width. On the sidewall, you will also find the dimensions in mm in international ETRTO measurements. For example 50-559 means the tyre is 50 mm wide with an inner diameter of 559 mm (or 26 x 2.00).

    Removing an inner tube

Remove the old inner tube using B'Twin tyre levers.

What to check before installing your new inner tube

Check the condition of your tyre and replace it if necessary.Make sure no objects are lodged in the tyre.Check the condition of your tyre rim strip. A rim strip that is even slightly bent can cause punctures.Check that your rim does not have any other issues that could damage your inner tube.

    Fitting your inner tube

Watch our video before you start.Pre-inflate the inner tube slightly to avoid pinching.Insert the valve, making sure you are using the correct valve for your rim.Put the inner tube entirely inside the tyre so that it fits inside the rim.Take care not to pinch the inner tube when fitting.

    Mounting the tyre

Start by mounting the tyre onto the wheel on the opposite side to the valve.Finish mounting the tyre at the valve to avoid pinching the inner tube.Never mount your tyre with a screwdriver or a tyre lever, as you risk pinching and puncturing the inner tube.

    Inflating the tyre

Inflate your tyre carefully, to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer (visible on the tyre sidewall in PSI or bars, 1 bar = 14.51 PSI).Regularly check that your tyre is in the correct position as you inflate it.

    Tip from the pros

To prevent any puncture from pinching and to achieve the best performance, we recommend checking and, if necessary, pumping up your front tyre before each ride.
